Sailor Moon

Usagi was originally going to have pink hair. Do you think that detail should have been kept in the final version or does she look better blonde to you?

With pink hair, she looks like a taller Chibiusa, so nah.

Ami/Mercury was supposed to be a cyborg who dies, and that would've been a lot more interesting.

Both look good.

I prefer the blonde, but pink is cute too

Too much red/pink in the design I think. Yellow goes well with red and makes the dango stand out better.

She was also supposed to have white/silver hair

Not really; she was kinda blatantly ripping off Cutie Honey with that one.

I think her Sailor uniform should have been pink. I guess it makes her stand out from the others but it doesn't exactly feel thematically fitting or interesting that it's just a modified version of her uniform.

Super Sailor Moon or whatever looking more rainbow/iridescent (at least in the manga) is maybe what they should have done from the beginning.

This was a dumb idea. It raises more questions than the entire Sailor Moon universe's lore itself.

Why is there a cyborg/android (not sure what they were going for) in a public school in Japan? Is this some kind of weird social experiment? Who created her? Was she also a cyborg on the moon? Did the same person who created her on the moon just reconstruct her in the present day? Why should we care if she dies if she's actually just a bunch of machinery?

etc.

not really a fan of the original designs

>a modified version of her uniform

School uniform, that is

And yeah I'm aware that all the Sailor uniforms are kinda like that in the anime (and were supposed to be in the manga before Takeuchi seemingly forgot what she was going for), but only in terms of little details. Usagi's/Sailor V's are close to being identical to what they always wear already

>I think her Sailor uniform should have been pink.
Considering how most magical girl leads afterwards has pink as a main color for their outfits, I appreciate the lack of pink for sailor moon since it makes her stand out more.

>Why was she white?
She never was.

Reading Chapter 8 rn and manga Venus continues to be a garbage Mary Sue

or more like, begins to be since technically this is where she's officially introduced, but I'm well aware of where this is going to go

I was going to make my own dumb thread for this when I actually finished the chapter, but hey if this one's up I don't wanna let it die

SHIT I did not intend to make that a tripcode. I have never made one in my entire life

The hardest part of becoming a tripfag is coming out to your parents.

I thought it was dropping your last estrogen pill on the floor and having to pick it up without falling.

Jesus, they look like a batch of oc donut steels from DeviantART.

I'll keep it on this thread to own up to my shame I guess

Only read like half the chapter right now in between doing other shit but it's getting tiresome already so here's some SAILOR MOON Venus BULLSHIT

>this is nitpicky but it's kinda weird how everyone in-universe is so captivated and entranced by the ~mystery~ of Sailor V when all 4 of them are doing the Exact Same Shit. anime had the right idea with how she stopped being relevant to their everyday lives before her actual debut after, like, Episode 1
>not really sure what universe SM manga fans are from where a "new" (kinda) character debuting and instantly being the best fighter with all the info who's been working behind the scenes the whole time is actually enjoyable or interesting. I say "new" because she has 0 resemblance to her characterization in Sailor V (although the chapter of V published before this one was also pretty Venus-wanky), so even someone who'd been following that at the time this chapter came out wouldn't especially feel there's much continuity other than them having the same name. Venus enters the story on God Mode pretty much
>Usagi apparently considers V her "role model" if this shitty translation I'm looking at alongside the Japanese is even close to correct, when she hasn't seen her do shit. Yeah, she does (too much) shit in V, but all Usagi saw was one newspaper article and one arcade game that she's shit at because manga Usagi is useless. Literally Jupiter or Mars (but not Mercury) would both be better role models
>God Mode Venus has been "watching" Usagi through the game. How's this possible? I don't fucking know, it's literally not explained. Yeah, we saw her speak to Usagi through the game a chapter or 2 ago, but apparently she hasn't been in the secret base under the arcade in ~oh so long, unlike you pathetic novices~ (when going by the actual timeline it's like 5 months max) so, what the hell?

Venus should have had pink hair

I like Gon's original design

>was she, like, streaming from her house like a Zoom call? does one of her powers include shrinking down and going into cyberspace? I know a chapter of Sailor V I haven't read published a few months after this has her fight inside a video game, but, like, is that supposed to be taken as a lore thing? One of Venus's powers is literally digitizing herself and her fans are gonna act like manga USAGI is the OP one?
>the Sailors' skills haven't improved over the last few literal months because they've actually been fighting and risking their lives-- not according to Artemis at least. PLOT TWIST: The Sailor V game was a training simulator all along! How is this a good plot twist again? Venus not only has all the info, all the strength, all the sex appeal, all the kills, and all of Takeuchi's love, but is directly responsible for the characters we've actually been following for the last 7 chapters being even marginally competent, apparently. People say Venus isn't a Mary Sue because ~she carries so much guilt over Serenity's death~ but since Serenity killed herself Venus is literally blameless. I saw a really old post someone on Any Forums made when looking through the archives about how Venus is actually the MC of Sailor Moon, and honestly I have to agree. And it sucks
