It tends to be very polarizing, either you get it or you don't. It does SoL perfectly, it basically mirrors real life, and what make it so great is all the subtle little moments that trigger the reader to feel mono no aware. If you speed read it you miss all of this, the Taipon, the Misago vanishing as Takahiro grows up, Takahiro growing taller than Alpha, the way the manga feels much longer for the early days like how childhood feels to last forever until it's over and then the way time beings to slip away from you as the manga time slips over and over as you see the Taipon vanish from the Northern hemisphere for seven years and show up again a few chapters later, until in the last few chapters things begin to repeat with Takahiro's kid seeing the Misago again all the while you have Alpha in the centre, an unaeging unchanging robot the perfect viewer to watch the world gradually change. When you get it, there's nothing else like it.
