The legal system in Japan is extra psychotic so I don't think it would ever work.

jap legal system is horrid. They have a 99% rate of criminal admitting to the crime. Most countries are less than 50%. Usually they just beat you or use psychological torture.

Basically if someone even thinks if you did a crime the best you can hope for is by admitting it you get a reduced sentence

whats the point of a conviction rate, when half the time they forced out a confession through violence? thats like the antithesis to a justice system

maybe outside the USA lawyers aren't that mythical (in a good and a bad way) and it's one of the regular everyday professions. Though Japan could do something cool out of it, as usual.

Almost every country has a conviction rate well over 90% when you include plea bargains, especially for federal cases

Apparently if you “confess” it reduced your sentence so massively it basically makes the alternative of fighting it not worth it unless the charge is being a terrorist or mass murderer or something

Wizard Barristers I guess

Here's an academic source, you dumb cunt. It's the first google result for "Japanese conviction rate" by the way.

You get a high rate of "solved" crimes. Probably hard to reform that kind of thing politically as well, since nobody wants to be the guy who tanks the inflated stats.

user played Persona 5, he knows everything about the Japanese judicial system.

this
>admit to cp
>get 10k yen fine

now do that in US of A and you get lifelong surveillance, prison, and are cut off from society and technology

They still use the old Imperial Justice system which is why it's so draconian.

The first few hours of that game made me just replay 4 instead, good god it's up its own ass.

Thaddeus came back few months ago and even did a stream on youtube lol

WHAT'S HIS NAME AGAIN?

Dragon Zakura by Mita Norifusa.
A lawyer decides to save his old school by training up group of kids to be able to get into toudai.
pretty great manga
There was a live action adaptation too

Toudai is a name for the elite Tokyo university

The gist of the manga is not making them smart but using stats and loopholes to be able to get in. After that, is up to them if they flunk the semester or keep studying.

Sadly, the translation is stuck for years and doesn't help that it has a sequel.

Yeah a buddy and I got two chapters translated but that was 6 years ago apparently looking at MU...
