I'm sick of hearing about elfen lied. it came out two decades ago and was popular with the vampire smiles and salad fingers newgrounda crowd. big whoop. Don't you have anything to talk about other than the same seven anime from your formative years? are you going to make yet another death note thread after this, too? Expand your horizons.

Relax. When was the last time anyone talked about Elfen Lied? The only recent time was when the creators of Stranger Things admitted they were influenced by Elfen Lied (plus Akira).

literally all the time

Salad Fingers is kino tho

No, it's missed opportunities though. I would have cut the "fake Diclonus clan" bullshit out and replaced it with just a generic weaponizing shadow government element. Really push for the Diclonus aids concept and basically have an actual apocalypse scenario that avoids the vaccine bullshit.

Why are japs so bad at seeing the full potential of their sci-fi concepts?

why dint he fuck lucy in the rtard form

Would have been kino. At least Nana continues to live to see another day.

Kouta couldn't decide if he wanted to shag his cousin or not.

It is not possible in this era, and if it were it would be censored up the ass

There's nothing wrong with "fake Diclonus clan bullshit"
The actual problem is one-dimensional characters that barely feel like humans and the plot relying too much on common and cheap devices

>Nothing wrong with the fake Diclonius bullshit
Eh it's kind of contrived. Kaede is just a mutant that somehow matched up with the prophecy of a sub-race of humans?
I find that a bit contrived, like a weird set up to establish an irrational villain that isn't needed. It implies the author was uncomitted to a prior idea especially with all the information placed into how Diclonii work only to just go "yeah about HALF of this is bullshit, just because like, it is ok?".

You don't need a prophecy to justify the villain's bullshit, especially if it's all coincidental. I feel coincidence is a terrible thing to utilize for any given plot.

So again, you could have Kaede just be a mutant, but establishing the Diclonii state of being through research is a hell of a lot more logical than a sub plot about horned human jackasses with a stupid religion.

Maybe today's anime should step up its game and stop being so shit.

Definitely in regards to the nudity, but I doubt the actual violence itself would be censored that much.

>I'm sick of hearing about any show that doesn't take place in an Isekai

You take this prophecy stuff too literally when it was debunked by Lucy right after it was introduced. In the end it was nothing more than a tale that served as director's motivation, it wasn't relevant to any of the other characters or plot in general.

I wouldn't say it's too dark, but it's so weird it might not be marketable.

>It was debunked right away
The fact that the prophecy about the Diclonus taking over going hand in hand with their kill instinct and the virus does more to support the Clan's belief than does Kaede pretending that she understands her state of existence.

People seem to process weirder concepts like Popteam Epic or Chainsaw Man.

Well he did in the end.

I am surprised Lucy never got around to killing Yuka. Not like she had any emotional connection with her prior like she did with Kouta. She slaughtered his sister and father like nothing.

>not marketable
It can easily be marketed as an edgier version of Stranger Things.

>dark
lol
lmao even
It's edgeshit that goes so much overboard it would make Shadow the Hedgehog commit sudoku.
