i used to lurk Any Forums from 2012 - 2016 and i've just recently been trying to get back into anime.
back when i was posting on here everyone was hugely autistic about never streaming, only using MPC with the CCCP codec or whatever and downloading their chinese cartoons over XDCC.
give me the rundown on what to sperg out over today. is streaming still ghey and retarded or what?
Yes streaming is still retarded even though most seasonal torrents are just streamrips, you still want to use an offline player so the ass subs render correctly and screenies can have filenames etc etc. Most people use mpv these days.

Well there are pretty good pirate streaming sites now, 9anime.to is my favorite, I don't really bother downloading anime unless it's something really great I want to see in high definition or something, too much anime, most of it's trash, why bother downloading

Not everyone is autistic as you about anime. I just need something to look at after I'm home from work and I can't be bothered to download each and every episode when I can just go to a random streaming site and get good enough quality with the click of a button

No one is going to pay 500+ bucks a month to keep a service that doesn't make a single penny back, the last time someone tried that with twist.moe it went down like 4 months after launch
dont be a retard and just torrent like a normal person, hell even better take an hour to learn to setup an RSS and a local server and enjoy your anime in every device in your network

The streaming sites recompress the streamrips to be even worse
That's really great, but not relevant. Streaming sites "worked" when I watched Lain on Veoh in 2006, that doesn't mean it was the right call.

Then just watch anime when you get home from work, and discuss it on any of the thousands of places online for people who can't take screenshots.
I have 28 full shows sitting on my hard drive right now, and that's just the random shit I've downloaded and not bothered to move to my archival system. What, don't have 24 tb of storage? I can take screenshots or webms from any show at any time, and I never have to worry about reuploads or seeders. I don't even delete shows I drop. I will not watch 2/3 of these shows.
And I'm probably more of a "normalfag" than you think. You just refuse to exert effort, and it's not appreciated here. Learn or leave.
