Homura has literally, intentionally set herself up to be killed. Nothing has worked out.
Homura thought Mami and Kyouko would help kill her in the isolation field but she was wrong about that. Homura's self-loathing blinds her to the relationships her friends have with her and the relationships she wants to have with her friends. She's her own worst enemy. She may have set herself up to be killed but that doesn't actually mean anyone's out to kill her. Also, Gen is a healing-type writer now.
