Through this whole thing I've stopped caring for Caska. The more I think about it the more I realize she's just a follower. She's basically at the same maturity level as right before the eclipse while Guts has become this larger than life ubermensch that has inspired a whole bunch of people. And now there's no way she and Guts can be true equals any more than she could be Griffith's equal. I think about the situation and it's just absurd to think of her as someone who could even be a part of Guts' party much less his soulmate. I also have a bad feeling she will betray Guts somehow. It will either be her or their son and Guts will let it happen because she's this nostalgia figure that he assumed a sense of responsibility over and as an excuse to perfect what he's good at (war). But some of this is from rereading the golden age recently and I just can't stand her anymore. Her sitting around fantasizing about whether her and femboy bat faggot could be together is just fucking pathetic. She overall just gives me major middle manager vibes and she hasn't had any development past that point.
