Why are women the only ones capable of writing decent shounens?

Is "female gaze" really what most male shounen authors lack when making proper character arcs and comprehensive endings?

Kenshin and YYH were also written by men and they're definitely superior to KNY.

Shounens are doing a dumb job determining their demographic then, WSJ had polls and it's mostly 50/50, sometimes female readership is even bigger.
Besides, KNY is written by a woman, and it's the hottest shit since SnK while striking both what little boys want and "trifles" I "care about"

I was disappointed to find out that Haikyuu was most likely written by a woman. Not because you couldn't tell – the opposite, Haikyuu has a very, as you put it, "female gaze" – innocent humour, safe but well-written characters, "wholesome" atmosphere, no over the top sexualization, dreamy boys, nothing too morally gray and etc. I was disappointed because I wanted a male shounen author for once to write such a heartfelt and nice manga with a satisfying conclusion. I haven't seen them produce one in many, many years, and the last one i liked was FMA's. Coincidentally, also woman's. Turns out it's still a challenge for autistic male nips.
I guess that's why female authors succeed – they use safe writing and don't go for over the top twists, sudden politics incorporation and, as a result, get a simple, but good story with well-rounded characters, instead of FOR TEN YEARS AT THE VERY LEAST

To be fair, FMA is still younger than them, especially with Brotherhood. It also feels that way because people still actually discuss it and put on tops of all the "muh greatest anime" lists

Your author is a biological male. The manga has no female mangaka traits. Crying cuck protagonist is not a female mangaka trait, that's the new standard for numale shonen (see MHA, SnK, etc).
