This is another reason why critics have written this show's premise off as being dumb. LGBTQ is estimated to be around 10% of the population in certain countries. And if you lived in a ninja village with only one gender then I would imagine these numbers would increase. Especially with females who tend to not be ashamed of being gay as us males. So what's stopping the girls from eloping with other girls? Even when siblings of the opposite sex experience puberty it's not uncommon for them to experiment with each other because the hormones control their actions. Look it up.
