It is absolutely a giant leap. It completely kills any claim the Byakugan had to having utilities the Sharingan couldn't replicate. Plus it's a completely unnecessary scene that didn't need to happen - Sasuke could've just shocked himself without having to see the nanobombs inside him.

The framing goes nowhere, since the plot ends up going "Just kill Danzo and all bad things can be blamed on him to make Konoha free of sin". Plus all the Uchihas end up proving themselves uniquely, BIOLOGICALLY insane and by that point the reader just starts thinking they deserve death, since the only "good" Uchiha ends up being the newly-saintified Itachi who "knew best all along" and whose only "mistake" was letting Sasuke learn he was good all along.

Nagato's not a Sue, his problem was in how unnecessarily sappy his story was at points, how disappointing his turn to good was, and that he undid all meaningful consequences for the entire fucking arc at the end. Obito is an obnoxious fucking prick whose existence is the death knell for the manga's moral compass, since he kills tens of thousands of people, is directly responsible for most of the manga's events, and tries to stuff the entire world into the Infinite Tsukuyomi because he couldn't get over his childhood crush dying, and yet we're supposed to forgive him and find him sympathetic because he used to be a good guy and said "I wanna be Hokage" at some point.

Obito's only disappointed that he can't perfectly control Sasuke's stupid revenge, and all of Itachi's proselytizing still doesn't make up for turning Sasuke into a retard incapable of expressing human rationality.
