Idolm@ster

Someone in a previous thread claimed that Miria and Nina were the only characters from U149 cast to appear in the Cinderella Girls 2015 anime, but this is simply not true. I'm rewatching Cinderella Girls and Chie has a cameo in the very first episode. All the U149 girls have multiple cameos by the end of the show. By 2022 standards, Cinderella Girls is a very good show.

Also, I've begun cleaning and typesetting Kusaka Shi U149 fan art into English. I hope you like it.

Haru is pretty fucking cute, man.

I'm really bummed out. I was going to scanlate something for every popular girl in im@s threads on Any Forums, but there's no translated Haru content on Danbooru. If someone wants to translate any of it, I will clean and typeset it same day, even if I have to do redraws. I'm trying to get good at this.

There's going to be idolmaster OC on Any Forums even if I have to do it all myself.

I think this should settle any debates about the nature of Kusaka Shi's art...

You were stupid to trust an anonymous messageboard.

It's okay to be dumb if you work hard. That's my secret.

Last one for now unless thread gets active. I have more but I'm not going to spam Any Forums if no idolmaster fans are online.

>There aren't even any bumps
Rude. Nagi is smaller than her twin but she's no Chihaya.

One of the reasons I put a bunch of these into English is Yukie/Kusaka Shi's sense of humor. He gets the personality of the characters right and draws high quality stuff, but he makes jokes like this:
that official idolmaster stuff can't really get away with. The guy speaks some degree of English and posts a lot of his fan art on pixiv with the same kind of comments/hashtags people reply to his images in these threads with.

Isn't a term like "JC" used only in questionable magazines and DVDs?

>questionable
user, I've got bad news for you. Everything about this artist is questionable. No idea how he got the reputation he has here. I didn't translate this, he posts these tags on pixiv himself. The people who say he will never do porn are delusional, if Kikka-chan is ever booted from Manga Kirara, I'm sure he will. Not that I want Kikka-chan cancelled.

Posting in this thread because the NHK one was archived but to scanlation effort user:
In the case of a particular inspirational moment standing out, there was an episode of Figure 17 where a girl wanted to go to some concert and neglect her duties on her mother's farm but in the end decided not to go in favor of helping her family. That stuck with me. In High Score Girl, Guille appearing as a manifestion of Haruo's conscience and occasionally offering insight was oddly inspiring too, as was the general idea of this kid's favorite characters appearing as muses within the mind. Rintaro's Galaxy Express 999 film reminded me of childhood wonder that I thought had disappeared. Natsuo from Teppu was someone who possessed good genetics and talent but still lacked passion until she got into MMA after forming her rivalry with Yuzuko, similar to Joe and Rikiishi's dynamic in Ashita no Joe. Pic related is something I made from its panels and dialogue.
In general, the series that stand out to me as exceptionally motivational are Berserk, Ashita no Joe and Gurren Lagann among others. On the topic of music anime, you reminded me Kids on the Slope is worthy of a re-watch.
Just wanted to say your post was inspiring. Thanks.

Just came by to say I love my wife Arisu

Blessed thread, thanks for the translations user.

Honestly I don't care about implications and other stuff, this art just warms me up when I see it

I focused on the ones that I had to do lots of redraws for to challenge myself, but the really really cute Chie and Arisu stuff is next. I'm working on an official manga page (from the mobile game) right now (about Kaoru of course). Pic related is all I've got done of the Kusaka Shi stuff right now, but I will start on an Arisu and a Chie and post them if the thread is still up.

Don't stop believing in yourself user. Your ability to tie all these disparate threads in these shows together and take themes and lessons from them implies a high general level of intelligence. You've got a heart of gold, don't let them take it from you. Since you're here, consider watching either of the Idolmaster anime. They are not anything like CGDCT shows or other idol shows, and actually have a storyline and drama. They're not as good as Berserk or Galaxy Express 999, but they're exceptional compared to your average tv anime. Not CG bullshit either.

I did these for YOU. Because the art warms me up too, and I'm tired of seeing people suffer on this board. That's the beauty of Japanese attitudes towards sexuality. Kusaka Shi can be into all the things he's into, and so can you, and both of you should still be able to see and enjoy the platonic beauty of these drawings. There's nothing wrong with women being beautiful. In fact, I think there's something wrong with anyone who doesn't think Rika Jougasaki is beautiful.

I'll consider it after having looked through this thread. There must have been something about Idolmaster that allured Miura beyond the cute girls.
Also, I forgot to specify that Yuzuko, Natsuo's rival in Teppu, is a girl who contrasts the main character in both height and personality as an embodiment of the shounen protag "never give up" attitude. That manga might be up your alley.

>something about Idolmaster that allured Miura beyond the cute girls.
The cute girls are some of the best designed cute girls in the history of the medium. One of the problems with the medium of anime and manga is that there are very few high quality artists that can create both interesting tough male characters like the kind you see in shonen/seinin with strong male characters, along with sweet, hard-working, respectable female characters. Idolmaster is one of the largest franchises in Japan because the franchise has obscenely high design standards from both an art and writing perspective. There's so much fan work because if you are going to like a cute girls franchise, it's probably the highest quality one to like with the most well developed characters.

Pic related, in addition to being generally a great design, this character is very fleshed out. An user who is obsessed with her could tell you about her every interest and quirk for hours. And all the characters that anyone cares about are like this. The source material for the second half of the franchise is a mobile game, so unfortunately popularity matters, but the quality of the content makes up for it.

Yes, good work user, keep doing it.
