Why does anime get forgotten so quickly nowadays? Every season there's some show that gets hyped into oblivion only for it to be completely forgotten after it finishes.
Why does anime get forgotten so quickly nowadays...
Because new shows are shit and zoomies have low standards
Huh? What shows are you talking about? I don't remember any shows like that.
waaaaaaay less 80+ episode year-round animes
It's a combination of 1. anime is shit nowadays and 2. in the internet era we are fed media on a never ending treadmill, never looking back, always watching what's next in queue
Is the same with old shows. Nothing to do with new anime. I guarantee you nobody remembers Kampfer or Speed Grapher outside of the hardcore fans. It always happened and it'll stay that way forever.
memorable anime ALWAYS airs between October and January, every year. They don't put the memorable anime in the summer season because probably statistically less people watch TV in the summer.
>nowadays
Open any anime database of the year 2001 and you will see dozens of anime nobody remembers or know about.
Kampfer was hyped? I would say it was pretty memed but hardly hyped.
To add onto this. Do you remember every single show you watch? I highly doubt it. Unless you've only watched a handful, but since you're asking such a question then you must've watched at least 50 shows, correct?
are there really less though? What was there ever airing like that? Naruto and Bleach? We had Dai, Shaman King, and Black Clover recently.
What there is less of though is anime with 50 episode seasons. They used to adapt a fair bit of random mangas and just adapt the whole series in one 50 episodes run and they don't seem to do that at all anymore.
Accurate. It's probably also just that there are more shows, so you're not forced into waiting forever for something new in your wheelhouse. Everything gets picked up and subbed, too, so you don't have the same months long delays we used to get. Compare Any Forums with Any Forums who have maybe a dozen popular things to talk about in any given year, and just spend all their time retreading the same ground
That's how most media works work unless they're long runners currently running, get a revival, or crack the cultural zeitgeist.
For example, have you seen the show your meme image comes from? Do you remember the other shows in its season?
>Using a reaction image from a show you didn't watch so you can seem """cultured""".
Cmon OP, at least use Nezuko or Shinobu
I dunno, I think it's probably accurate that we talked about the big hitters of the 00s more regularly for a longer time period than what has come out in the last five years. Like, was Lucky Star really that many magnitudes more memorable than any given comedy anime recently? Or did it just air in a time where it was optimally positioned to capture American attention for an extended period?
Any Forums talks about early 2000's anime all the time.
Wait why does this hentai thing have diet Pepsi in it
any post with the word 'nowadays' in it is garbage
Everyone and their mother knows gunsmith cats along with every other anime that came out in 1996.
That's because it's Any Forums. We're enthusiastic about it.
It's because there is simply way more anime now than there was back then. We have over 60 shows airing each season, with the "hyped" shows being whatever the general public latches on to. This season it's Lycoris Recoil. Soon it'll be Chainsaw Man. These people aren't watching anime because they have a genuine interest in the subject matter, they're watching it because it's the popular thing and once it's over, there's no reason to retain any memory of it because they've moved to whichever anime is prevalent in their circles.
>lycoris recoil
Literally no one outside of that shitty yuri general cares about it.
You are being willfully ignorant if you believe that to be the case considering the presence it has with normalfags and people normalfags flock to, like Kojima who tweeted positively about it numerous times. There isn't another anime this season that has the same level of hype that user was talking about, regardless of the quality of the actual work.
And Any Forums talks about 10's anime all the time.
This thread is worthless.
