Are you going to violently jack off now?
Yep.
That's whack
Step on a crack, break yo momma's back!
Translation never. Translators are too busy working on modern masterpieces like I Reincarnated in Another World only Populated by Anime Girls and They All Want to Have My Baby
Doesn't help matters that the original Violence Jack manga still isn't fully scanlated. While every arc from the initial 70s run from Kodansha's Shōnen Magazine is covered, there are still some arcs from the 80s run from Weekly Manga Goraku that have yet to be translated. Notable untranslated arcs from the 80s include Iron Castle (第八部 鉄の城編), Hyper Grapple (第五部 ハイパーグラップル編), Death Police (第四部 死神警察編), and Black Forest (スラムキング編 黒の森).
Given how Crybabby turned out, and 20XX is shunned by the scanlators, you think Masaaki Yuasa is able to make a better Violence Jack or in this case, Crybabby Season 2 than Yū Kinutani?
Will he kill Ryo this loop or not
I don't think Slum King's manpets have appeared in 20XX yet. But then again, we didn't see them in the OVAs either.
How many times are people going to retread the same Go Nagai stories?
At this rate, Devilman is the Christmas Carol of anime and manga. It's going to be retreaded ad nauseam, no matter the cost.
So far, 20XX is retreading the Gale Dragon (疾風ドラゴン編, Hayate doragon-hen) arc.
For comparison, pic related from the 70s original.
Fun fact: Kentaro Miura, creator of the manga and anime series Berserk (1989 debut), cited Violence Jack as an influence. If Murai were alive today, I wonder what he would think of 20XX? R.I.P. Kentaro Miura, July 11, 1966 – May 6, 2021.
