Why did it get popular?
No foreshadowing
like most shounen, the first few chapters were really good before it went to shit
It got lucky since it was created right in the middle of the superhero craze started by the MCU. It had a lot of promise since it was promised to be an ensemble story that focused on the entire class instead of just a bunch of MC wank. This was aided by the fact that the MC had a relatively basic power so he would need to rely on a lot of other people.
Though honestly it was never as good as Naruto. Naruto's worst moments were still on par with MHA's best
Mha was never good
Because the fan base is mainly grown women who like to sexualize young teen boys. MHA is designed to normalize female pedophilia.
wtf i love mha now
offbeat character designs and art direction. same reason kimetsu got popular.
>offbeat character designs and art direction
Its literally the most generic looking shounen ive ever seen
Was good for the first one hundred chapters but the writer had no clue what they where doing after that.
you should probably read more manga, then. it looks far more like Any Forums shit that it does the stuff that's typically serialized in jump, which is probably why it was initially such a hit in the west.
The Naruto of its generation.
Really?
I know what first drew me to the show was the fact that the MC looks more in line with a typical 80s or 90s shounen hero rather than a moeblob.
I get that Naruto tends to be used as a punching bag a lot of the time but the first two arcs of Naruto are better than the entirety of MHA
Because retards are gay for the blonde fagtard who screams like he has an angry honey badger, gorilla glued into his asshole
>Why did it get popular?
Really good art.
Every waifu is a 10/10.
Made at just the right time when capes were at peak interest and had a partially unique premise. That and the seemingly strong ensemble cast that had character archetypes for everybody. Add in the Western influence being a hit overseas and you have a property that would literally print money. I don't know how Hori got himself a golden goose without even trying, and then fucked it up anyway.
No, I enjoy Naruto for what it is and think that Kishi was under a lot of pressure.
>No foreshadowing
Normals don't enjoy foreshadowing, they like to turn their brains off when consuming entertainment
>No foreshadowing
fuck off wan piss, foreshadowing doesn't necessarily = good
>No good fights
All Might vs Nomu, Midoriya vs Todoroki, Midoriya vs Muscular, All Might vs All for One are all really good.
It's actually pretty good, thus it has remained consistently popular and sold more year over year.
Why does everyone here hate it? It got an anime and the threads became bad, which is what happens to everything that gets an anime.
Horikoshi kind of forgot what to do after Shie Hassaikai and basically bullshitted his way through the story since.
God you’re retarded.
Kishi def was. Can’t remember where i found it, but someone posted an interview where he outlined his average day and at least a good 12 hours were devoted to just working on Naruto. Say what you will about Naruto as a franchise but I gotta respect Kishi for doing that for so long.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Oda’s under the same conditions. I remember him saying at the start of Wano that OP was only halfway done and is now saying that the next arc is going to be the last.
When did Taguchi come on as editor?
He fucking destroyed everything he touched, but somehow the volumes done during his tenure sold better than everything before it.
