Constantly chucks his weapons

>constantly chucks his weapons
>steals more from goblins
Wouldn't this not only lose him a shit load of money, but also leave him with grimy low quality weapons that break easily?

buy more weapons then

infinite money glitch:
kill goblins

He only does low-paying jobs, though.

It's because the author doesn't understand realism. He thinks a weapon is ruined if it's got a bit of blood on it. (even though the blood didn't stop the sword from killing the victim the blood was originally contained in).
He also runs with game logic where every weapon you find in a dungeon is perfectly serviceable even if the inhabitants of that dungeon have no crafting expertise and no connection to anyone with crafting expertise.

The things Goblin Slayer does fall into two categories:
1) things that everybody should be doing in the first place and that just show bad story telling since they don't, like for example
>wearing a helmet and Goblin Slayer's helmet is fucking retarded, on top of that
2) things that don't make a lot of sense if you think about them, like for example his odd relationship to his weapons that you have brought up.

Don't read GS for realism. Read it for goblin slaying autism.
Or don't.

he can always sell his body to the sword maiden

>constantly chucks his weapons
>steals more from goblins
>Wouldn't this not only lose him a shit load of money
What?
Also yeah, he only has low quality weapons, but since the entire Goblin Slayer world is D&D, imagine him basically always critically strike because he has autism bonus perks on goblins so his dice rolls are busted.
And even if he doesn't his dice rolls are busted anyway, literally confirmed by the plot itself.

He throws his weapons away because they become dulled from chopping through so much flesh and bone, and any weapon will become covered with viscera and fat no matter if it's some expensive alloy or enchanted.
He doesn't mind using goblin weapons because they're already poisoned with shit and will poison whatever wounded goblins might escape.
In Goblin's Crown he had dwarf carry extra weapons, so it works better as a strategy than seeming desperate.

>He thinks a weapon is ruined if it's got a bit of blood on it
I've heard not keeping your sword shiny and oiled does fuck it up over a super long period of time, especially if its constantly being beaten against bones or tough meat, but the series is pretty bad with realism.
I mean he's been shown to buy equipment and repair his gear, so I'm assuming he uses his questing money to keep his gear in check. Constantly picking up goblin gear would probably leave him with some 1d4 butter knife most of the time

>Wouldn't this not only lose him a shit load of money
Most of the stuff he chucks is stuff he finds in caves
>but also leave him with grimy low quality weapons that break easily?
Yeah, that's the point so goblins only get shitty gear if they actually get him

>And even if he doesn't his dice rolls are busted anyway, literally confirmed by the plot itself.
Nah, the gods just can't hit him with their busted rolls or summon quantum trolls right on top of him

Im pretty sure he has time after the fight to pick the thrown weapons up. He rarely discards useful materials as far as im aware.

>I've heard not keeping your sword shiny and oiled does fuck it up over a super long period of time,
Oh definitely.
Long before the weapon is ruined, it can get stuck in the scabbard from the rust.
Keeping your blade in good condition is a serious issue that made some richer folks actually get their blades coated with silver.

But that's a different topic. We're talking about mid-combat here.

/k/ thread?

>He only does low-paying jobs, though.
The combination of buying low cost equipment and the sheer number of goblin quests he takes keeps him pretty loaded, actually.

I'm pretty sure he uses cheap weapons

He prefers not creating dependencies that can be exploited. Precious expensive weapons can be exploited if they get snatched and distract you long enough for some goblin to stab you in the kidney.
Instead all his weapons are literal trash that he leaves or takes as needed.

Goblin Slayer only uses shit tier equipment

GS hits on 2s and has rerolls on 1s, even Truth is hard pressed to fuck him over, and since he has multiple attacks then it's statistically impossible for him to fail.
It's a bit like what Sora explained to Steph in NGNL, you can make it so even if you get bad rolls you will still be capable to pull through due planning for contingencies, you set the game to win before it started. It's a bit like humanity IRL, we made so our survival rolls have so many reroll, +1s and saving throws (law enforcement, laboral security, medical treatments, etc) most of us live well beyond other species on Earth.

Yeah man, that's totally sensible. We see time and time again that the people relying on modern weaponry just can't keep up with the people using junk.

Not to mention that he avoids strong weaponry in case he gets killed. If he dies, the goblins get junk loot instead of an epic weapon that would give them an edge over whoever they fight next.

>things that everybody should be doing in the first place and that just show bad story telling since they don't, like for example, wearing a helmet
how is that indictive of bad story telling?
>Goblin Slayer's helmet is fucking retarded, on top of that
you mean it looks stupid or that it's impractical?

>Not to mention that he avoids strong weaponry in case he gets killed.
That would make sense if he were a peasant mob.
But he is not a peasant mob.

He is basically the only professional adventurer taking goblin quests regularly.
The goblins get decent weaponry from people who run into them unawares.
He cannot afford to die against them, because otherwise there is no one left to do the goblin quests.

>how is that indictive of bad story telling?
It's a plot hole.

>you mean it looks stupid or that it's impractical?
It's impractical, it's more complex than it needs to be (which would drive up the price, if there were any logic behind it) and its visor is dysfunctional.
