I'm not in the fandom circle, but it seems the writer said in an interview that a person can't meet their life partner at 18 so some people think this is an ode to that statement. She's leaving the possibility of them breaking up there, whether it's for Chihaya to marry Arata or someone else entirely. Did Kana and Tsutomu even start dating after he confessed? The romance in the story was weird and dragged it down.
