1999 version of the yorknew arc is the only good piece of HxH media

They're all dogshit, don't bother

2011 > 1999 > manga
Everyone who says otherwise is full of shit

Manga but wait until it ends to read it at once

1999 adapts all the good arcs.

you got the order wrong, reverse that shit.

honestly this, fpbp

You should enjoy all of them, just try the first 3 eps / chapters to see which one attracts you the most but you should seriously enjoy all of them.

Why zoomer anime love to push retarded face reactions?

>manga
A fairly unique comic in its use of the medium, excellent, steady pacing (though it does stumble at one point before picking back up again). Blends simple character designs with clear paneling to create a very easy reading experience, while also applying some influence of shoujo manga in some of its layouts and storytelling. However, there are points where the art gets pretty rough, though people do exaggerate the frequency of this, particularly now that we have the tanks which fixed a lot of the pages people like to meme up. Overall, its a work that conveys a great passion for adventure.
>1999
An adaptation that takes liberties and adds original (read: filler) content. Has some pretty cool animation and cinematography sprinkled throughout but overall is just alright.
>2011
A very average anime adaptation, pretty much carried by the source material. Only really notable for being a manga adaptation that covered the whole work (up to that point) while maintaining a fairly consistent production quality throughout its run, a rare beast.

The choice is yours.

I'm thinking of watchin the 1st half of 1999 and continue with 2011 version but I still fear missing out on cool scenes from both shows.

Either one is a pretty different experience from the manga. They don't really manage to adapt the feel of the manga. Despite being wordy at points, it's a pretty light read (except for the more recent volumes, especially 33) that never really feels like it stops progressing the story just to explain stuff. The design style is both simple enough to appeal to children while being varied and interesting enough to appeal to young adults, and the work uses this to its advantage, incorporating horror elements into its artwork. Neither of the adaptations quite manage to capture these aspects. Plus the manga straight up reads like a shoujo manga at points focusing on conveying characters emotions over their physical place or time, which you're never going to be able to capture in an anime.

Manga and 1999

YYH

99 by far. The manga was pretty good before it became Aspull x Aspull though. 2011 is unwatchably bad.

>cinematography
Modern anime has no cinematography, fucking retard. Cinematography =/= visuals.

Incomplete
Hiatus
or
Hiatus
hmmm hard choice

What else would you call it? Shot composition? Visual storytelling? Cool jpegs. There's lots of cool jpegs.

OP don't listen to these trolls. The 1999 anime was a ratings disaster. HxH only blew up in popularity after the 2011 anime. Also, the 1999 anime never finished because the author kept going on hiatuses, so you're going to have to watch the 2011 anime regardless if you want to see the CA arc which is what this series is known for.
