The anime baited the fanbase into believing that IR had a chance. They removed/changed some Orihime scenes in the first tow arcs regarding Ichigo, Kubo didn't like the changes they made so he would personally check the episode drafts and approve them. He is supervising the new anime, Pierrot has removed all the bait filler from the new BD release and even removed episode 342 from the episode poll which is filled with more filler IR bait despite ending on a canon scene.

It isn't. There are obvious differences in the first two arcs. Even Memories in the Rain(volume 3) was badly butchered.
