That's what i wanted to say, Lupin III is the descendant of Arsene Lupin and is a thief who just loves stealing and has a great group of allies.
The Netflix show is about a big Lupin fan becoming a criminal in order to get revenge and also kinda liking it, but not as much as Lupin III, at best he leaves some clues behind related to the original Lupin stories that a detective uses to track him down.
