Lol, as much this series is shit, this is the best season so far.
S2 was a pointless disaster with one of the most pathetic copouts ever, MC sure is nice for saving a prostitute, well you know we can't really have a prostitute in his harem, so she was just a retard living with the prostitutes.
S3 was even worse, oh no the poor monsters, they just want to leave the dungeon where they are safe to go outside where they make sure to attack every human on the way, also make sure no one outside of the hero party hears the monsters talking, otherwise we will have to write an actual argument in the story lol
S4 so far is just adventuring, even the harem shit is barely there anymore, it's like the author is really trying this time.

Am I the only one losing interest in the series? S2 to now felt like a slog to go through despite S1 being decent. I don't think I can even remember anything that happened in S2 and beyond anymore apart from the mayor whose goddess died and who himself died.

Nah, the opposite. I feel like Danmachi starts good but only really becomes great in the War Games novels, and Volumes 12-15 (where we are now) are the outright best in the entire series thus far.
I legitimately don't think I've ever seen anyone rate any of the other novels higher than volume 14, so this should be the best season in the anime if it's adapted well.
