Toriyama, like a lot of mangaka, never really cared about female characters and rarely involves them in much of anything beyond gags or jokes. Even Bulma is pretty much a gag character at this point who's only occasionally useful.

Why does Taro trace so much? Is it laziness? It can't be time constraints as he has an entire month to draw each chapter. With the exception of anatomical errors and excessive panelling he's not a *bad* artist and can draw some great panels, I just don't understand why he insists on tracing so much.
