What's the consensus about Hell Girl on Any Forums? Is it totally forgotten?
Hell Girl/Jigoku Shoujo
S3 is still on the backlog. I fucking despised the male character who tried to preach that killing is wrong in S1. I'm glad he wasn't in S2.
I like that shota trap Alucard got his own anime!
But I don't like that he isn't being raped by ugly bastards anymore... Unbased and bluepilled.
love ai
the formula for this show is underwhelming because the characters sell their souls too early, though the rare exceptions were nice
There wasn't anything wrong starting with those or having some occasionally, but they were too many. Some of them should have tried finding ways to keep her around longer.
Fascinating concept but the execution never lived up to it and much of the world and characters were severely underdeveloped.
I liked the first season
stopped watching there.

s1 was fine but left me with no urge to watch s2
I pretty much liked all seasons.
I remember watching S2.
I do not remember S2.
Purple hime cuts with pale skin are gorgeous but no one seems to like this show.
I love my waifu Enma Ai! I'm so glad that she finally got at least a nendo that was easily obtainable in the west.
That's not a hime cut, it's just blunt bangs.
The cool premise is diluted by the repetitive nature of the show. If you’ve seen one episode, you’ve seen them all. That’s not to say there aren’t any unique/good episodes. But those are few and far between. On top of that they’re always sandwiched between a plethora of other episodes that follow the same beats as the rest. Each episode usually goes like:
>Person A goes about their business
>Gets bullied or mistreated by Person B
>Person A finds out about Hell Correspondence
>Uses it to get back at Person B
>End
This wouldn’t be so bad, if it didn’t go on for nearly 26 episodes, with only slight variations.
Had this series been 12 episodes, it would’ve been better. I’ve heard subsequent seasons add more variety. But after 26 episodes of nothing but a story with foreseeable events, I was in no hurry to pick up the next season. That said there are some really cool episodes like the teacher texting the student one, the haunted asylum, and the drug addict who tries sending an innocent girl to hell, plus the OP/ED were killer.
Why do people dislike the episodic format? I liked it a lot.
>plus the OP/ED were killer.
Check out the other ones. This series is blessed when it comes to great OPs and EDs.
S2 was the best season.
Is season 2 worth a watch if I didn't care much for the first?
Too predictable cause most episodes follows the exact same format.
its mostly binge watchers that hate it. and frankly you shouldn't binge watch anything that takes more than four hours to complete
So, was that one girl in the bathroom raped or not?
>Is season 2 worth a watch if I didn't care much for the first?
I think so. It had more of an overarching story than S1. In S1 it was just the guy and his daughter but in S2 there is a lot more story in addition to the usual episodic stories. But if you didn't like them then maybe S2 won't be for you anyways since the usual cycle of revenge is always present.
Yeah maybe. I personally binged Season 1-3 and it remains one of my favorite series of all time even after watching over a thousand series, OVAs, movies, etc. I absolutely love the theme, the characters, the background stories for them, the righteousness, the music, the art. My only gripe is with S3 which I think could've been handled way better, and the fact that half of S4 was a glorified recap.
I might give it a shot then, but if it does retain the
>revenge plot of the week
format then I might be better off picking up the source material instead. Though I can guarantee I'll listen to OP/EDs of each season.
