So after endless shilling on this board, I finally decided to read CSM. If it "dethroned One Piece" and broke all records, it must be worth reading. So I got through the entire first part.
What the actual fuck did I read?
>Characters
Makima turned out to be a disappointment to rival Junko in Danganronpa 3. She's not some super-charismatic mastermind, she just has hypnosis powers. She's also pretty one-dimensional (like most characters in the story), exactly the heartless "the end justifies the means" thot you'd expect her to be after seeing her once, I hoped for some twist to it, but no. Everyone else gets barely any development and then dies (so fast that I can't even remember their names), so whatever. Power was cute I guess. The main character is pretty fucking bad - he's incredibly reactionary, the joke about his pathetic desires is stretched out way too much, and you end up just watching him go through the motions, no emotional involvement whatsoever.
>Story
It exists. It didn't really go anywhere. A lot of cliches (Aki is a big offender, everything about him was generic), but there were some moments, like Reze's story.
>Action
Pretty good, that's where the artistry of this manga shines. Creative too, sometimes.
>Artwork
A mixed bag. Action looks good, but character shots are sometimes awkward and linework is uneven.
It's fine overall, has its moments, but after reading it, I'm just left empty, as if someone promised me a glass of fine wine and I ended up drinking water. Was all this hype really justified? What am I missing here?
