The Lupin the Third series has been running for decades, and most of the animated films are the creation of the scriptwriters. The original author, Monkey Punch, told the scriptwriters that they could do anything they wanted as long as it was not a major change of setting, such as a character suddenly having a wife or a child.

Fujiko, who is not originally Lupin's friend and sometimes cooperates with him but usually betrays him, is very easy for the scriptwriters to use in creating the story. Fujiko is not conceived as a heroine who is likable to the viewers.

I don't really like her too much, she has a really shit first impression if you start at Part 1. Literally the first 10 episodes all have the same twist of her betraying the group. It happens like clockwork, it sucks. It gets a lot better in Part 2, it's more varried when she betrays the group, sometimes she just plays along the whole time and they all win, that was a good decsion. Made it more fun to guess if she would or not if you're catching a random episode.

Her miniseries is terrible though, when I'm watching something in a different language and I can somehow tell the dialogue feels stilted you fucked up hard. Literal Fanfic tier shit, abysmal. You can tell they fucked up with budget allocation too, the First 2-3 episodes are aninated insanely well, but the quality nosedives for the next 10, nkt even the style can hide it. Barring a couple sequences in the Finale. Only good thing to come out of them was the Koike movies that came after.

Though I will say, her design in Voyage to Danger is hands down the best, holy shit that's the one I could see Lupin ignoring her betrayls for, damn.
