I would say pic related.
>Childhood friend of MC
>Has a tragic death that severely affects her guild
>ACTUALLY NEVER MIND SHE’ SURVIVED AND JUST WENT TO AN ALTERNATE DIMENSION LMAO
>Is demoted to minor character status and does nothing for the rest of the series.
Literally what the fuck was the point? Just leave her in Edolas and nothing would have changed.
Who Is The Most Wasted Character Ever?
Feet, and also true, I don't know why Mashima dropped to ball so hard with Fairy tail easily his worst work and to no one surprise his most popular one, normalfags are fucking retarded.
She exists to suffer The author uses this exact character model in so many of his manga, and he always screws her over, meaning she's wasted multiple times [ /spoiler]
Was Lisanna an editor intervention? It's been ages since I read Fairy Fail, but even I remember thinking it was so weird how they never did anything with her.
Also, I nominate Chad.
This scene makes no sense considering lisanna was suppose to be naked in the manga
Can't believe we lost Mystogan for that refrigerator bitch. Edolas was truly the arc that started the freefall that was that series.
It's so much better than Rave and EZ it's not even funny. Also contrarian =/= personality.
Mystogan was based. Jellal was cringe
Your brain is damaged, you should check that faggot, being a filthy normalfag == personality.
I dunno if editors got involved, but apparently Mashima wanted to do something with her after seeing how much the anime director loved her, but it got NaLu fans in a hissy fit over the competition, not to mention it ruined whatever anime-original ideas the director had in mind (evidently he wanted to bring her back in his own way), and so Mashima was left not knowing what else to do with her.
>Popular = bad
>Unpopular = good
Do I fit in yet?!
>wan piss
unfortunately yes
It seemed more egregious with the anime because they added a whole bunch of flashbacks and extra scenes of their childhood which weren't present in the manga. It was a classic case of the anime director taking liberties that kind of blew up when the mangaka went in a different direction. To me anyway it felt like her going and then coming back from Edolas was more for Mira and Elfman than it was for Natsu, but the anime early days really emphasized their relationship moreso than the siblings.
plotwise fairytail was pretty stupid but as far as characterization is concerned, I feel like it did a much better job than his other two works
This is from an interview between Mashima and the anime director. The director was planning stuff for her (filler or otherwise?) so that's probably why he put in so much backstory kek.
>Mashima: He (Ishihara) really thought about how to fill in the gaps of the stories in the episodes. The one about Lisanna’s history and her past scenes were done especially well. I was really impressed.
>Ishihira: I had to think really deeply about that part, especially when the original work intentionally didn’t have drawn enough about their past.
>Mashima: Well, that part wasn’t really intentional… (Laughs)
>Ishihira: (on Lisanna’s Past in the Anime) Actually, I did that part as if Lisanna never passed away, that’s also my personal wish.
>Mashima: That, I got nothing to say (Laughs).
>Ishihira: But didn’t she show up in the Edolas arc? That makes people felt, way to sudden…
>Mashima: It did felt like that.
>Ishihira: Because of her appearence in Edolas, some of the plans that I had for her just went up in smokes (Laughs).
>Mashima: But I felt that (the story and the characters) you guys can edit it any way you guys want.
It mainly had to do with trying not to upset the fanbase and cramming in whatever new ideas crossed his mind as he slapped the whole plot together. Now that he's focusing on his space manga while storyboarding Fairy Tail's sequel on the side, he's all about thinking his stories ahead and making his characters suffer as much as possible, all while continuing to indulge the FT fans who'd honestly eat up shit like bringing Irene and God Serena back to life and call it a masterpiece.
Holy shit I’ll never understand this shit. Natsu and everyone made such a big deal about her ‘dying’ and then she comes back and is never relevant again
>FT fans who'd honestly eat up shit like bringing Irene and God Serena back to life and call it a masterpiece.
We literally have one raw page of God Serena and know nothing else surrounding it, put your little hate boner away. The one way rivalry EZ fans have with FT is nuts.
I really wanted to see more of him
I'm almost positive she was meant to be introduced as a love interest for Natsu but that was abandoned for some reason.
