Do you think other mangaka's should learn from the GODA school of bait and switch? A lot of Mangaka's lack the "GODA!" moment that we all know and love and that is so iconic to One Piece.
I think if other mangaka's used Oda's genius method of setting up a bait and switch, other fanbases would too enjoy their own "GODA!" moment. The Goda-Sensei technique appears to involve the following steps
>Make it as obvious as possible so it can be seen from outer space
>Double down on making it even more obvious
>It needs to be so obvious that readers will think the opposite will happen
>Drag it out for at least 100 chapters.
>Do no foreshadowing or set up for an alternative
>No indication of an alternative is key, it must feel badly set up
>Make sure it takes precedence over everything to the detriment of the overall manga quality
>Do a 4 week break
>Followed by 4 chapters that further double down on it
>Then leave it on a cliff hanger and a break
>Pull the bait and do the switch! Leave it on a break.
>Guaranteed GODA moment
>Fanbase slurping your cum and licking it off the floor
