Why do so many on Any Forums think anime is getting worse? The medium is better than ever with so many easily available shows, instant subbing and high quality animation. Yes, there are copy paste stuff and rehashes but everything else has been getting better. Gen Z and future generations are fortunate enough to watch so many great shows both classic and new.

contrarianism is Any Forums culture summarized, welcome

There's good and bad. Modern anime is being pumped out relentlessly by investors looking to make the next Your Name or Kimetsu, and the industry cannot cope with the demand. Artistry has suffered as a result and anything other than flashy action scenes has declined in quality severely.

literally 0 anime that comes out has good animation. Sure maybe a 10 second sakuga scene here or there, anime is uglier, cheaper, less creative, more of a slideshow than ever.

>instant subbing
I miss fansubs and waiting days for a translation
>high quality animation
this is a mixed box, argably the overall quality has went down, but just because now a lot more anime are produced and the studios are still pretty much the same, for a recent example look shaman king, the old animation was way better, and better colors and effects of now can't mask that. Instead in the past since they were less anime produced you got products with more care put in there, but is normal that you get them now too just with 20 worse anime produced in the mix

VEG is one of the best looking shows of the past 20 years

are you a sakugabooru mod or something kek

KyoAni doesn't play by the rules of the general anime industry, thanks to their self-sufficiency.

They are just the best of the best but other studios like Bones and JC are good too

This thread is fucking terrible.

Why?

>kyoani
they always make top tier animation
but you can safely say that 90% of the anime that comes out has just a passable animation nothing incredible, like from the anime airing now, who has a really good animation?
Lycoris recoil?
Strangely enough danmachi?
Jashin chan, basically a passion project?
Kanojo Okaerishmasu?

They are children who think that things that are older than them are cool. It's not any deeper than that.

VEG is pretty average, looks exactly like nagatoro or sono bisque doll AKA like shit

Bones are good, they can still manage to make projects with solid quality even when suffering from the resource issues of the wider anime industry and are able to pull off passion projects like Mob Psycho. JC Staff are generally unremarkable but do have a couple of experienced and skilled young staff who find some way to shine despite the awful production conditions.

>average
Get your eyes checked. Its movie quality

Because seasonals are mostly sequels and they're all cancer. There is more quantity, less quality. Take something like Rose of Versailles - better than everything from the past 10 years.

In theory it should go the way of the video game industry etc etc. but the Chinese will watch still images if it correlates with their gacha. There’s good and bad about the current climate and I definitely get why some people that watched in the 80’s and 90’s are mad now. sex with every anime girl ever drawn.

Anime is shit now because back then even on low brow shounenshit they used to put effort (1999 hxh for example) now shounen shit is the most popular genre out there yet every new anime of it is soulless cgi shit trash.

To be fair, Rose of Versailles is GOAT

if veg is average then we never had a good 2d animation ever

It just doesn't hold my attention as much, it feels like everybody uses the same cliches and character archetypes. I usually only watch one or two per season

>Telenovela in anime form is better than anything in the past 10 years
