This is very bakemonogatari.

Feels like volume 1-3 floatiness all over again…

But lacks Monty’s wackiness that masks it

There's only a couple of CG moments. They're noticeable, but aren't really a big part of the fights either.

Now THIS is SHAFT

Why did they waste all their fight animation chops on the 3 recap episodes instead of using it for the actual new content?

Again, they are in a dream world, where everyone sans Ruby gets a power boost

Anime productions typically blow their loads in the first few episodes.

Isn’t that all anime? That’s why it’s called the “three episode rule”

gay panic

>all that crappy CGI
They really did use up all their budget in the fights in the first couple of episodes. And still no proper OP.

Just seems odd that you wouldn't want to make your own story look better by focusing on it rather than the things people have already seen.

>tfw there's no new OP visuals.

No, it makes sense. If the first couple of episodes don't hook viewers, there's no point in putting effort in the later ones.

Why would even Blake spend coins on doppelgangers? Didn't they show us in the previous episode that she can make do with her semblance?

First impressions are just too important for media when it comes to the average otaku joe, even though we are taught otherwise
