2011 by miles, but I also stopped watching right after CA arc ended since that's about the only satisfying ending we're getting in this forever-hiatus shitpile. Fluctuates a bit on the boring side sometimes, but overall a pretty solid shounen that was a lot of fun to watch. Was impressed by the characters and storytelling, which is why I made sure to stop at the best possible endpoint.

Nathan Hernandez
YuYuHakusho
Elijah Sanders
11 does Heaven’s Arena and Greed Island better, but 99 is better at all the other arcs.

SOUL/Soulless

1999 has better music and is much more atmospheric
2011 is pretty soulless but at least adapts everything almost 1 to 1.

If you acknowledge that the manga is worth reading then 2011 loses all value. The only thing it offers over 1999 is that it adapts more of the story, but it doesn't do so in a way that's at all interesting or special. If you're allergic to reading then by all means check out 2011, the Chimera Ants arc is great, but otherwise don't bother.
Jonathan Baker
99 is so obviously visually superior it's not worth talking about on that front
2011 has better voice acting and music
