Makima was always depicted as a cute young woman. You would never think she was meant to have a deep voice if your perception of her wasn’t shaped by femdom fags.
A deep menacing ara ara voice would fit Makima the dommy mommy reddit pop culture icon. But it would not fit Makima the actual chainsaw man character. She is meant to have a very innocent appearance which makes it more impactful when you find out she’s actually a powerful evil devil
The casting was perfect and only coomers, redditors, and twitterfags who’s perception of the character was shaped by memes and fan art think otherwise

I keep hearing this argument and I'm just thinking are all of you retarded? She's always been off, her first introduction with denji is 'be my pet or die ok', she always had an edge to her tone, she was always alurring when she needed something or feel her influence was being pulled away but she never once ever been portray as anything innonce or cutesy naturally. She never really acted like human being, it was like an alien trying to blend in the most of the time. I agree an old shotahunting hag voice isnt the right voice. But sounding like an adult woman should have been the base line. This teenage girl voice just tarnishes Makima character to irredeemable levels. Power voice is shit too but that's whatever lol

from my own experience i thought she had a more middle grounding voice that can turn sweet but sounds usually more monotone to fit her dead glare . started the first 3 chaps and knew denji is in hot water and was generally rooting for the guy to get a better life . hell he aknowledges himself that she can be straight up evil in said chaps to him just like that but passes it off with pressumably good will due to her later actions . i think a dommy voice would have been too clichee but i can see why people are upset . i still dont think its a bad choice but the va of her gotta sell some uncanny valley und creepy stuff and not just by being cute when its appropriate either . for now i am content .
