Was Gohan acting like a pacifist in the Cell Games out of character? Let's discuss Gohan's character in general throughout the original series. People love to bring up that he "hates fighting" in response to complaints of him being poorly treated or just people in general wanting him to be used rather than ignored.
What do you think?
Dragon Ball Super:
To the extent that it went to, yes. It was perfectly fine for Gohan to not want to fight, because he doesn't actually like fighting, but he's NEVER been hesitant to jump in and fuck shit up when his friends are in danger. He was constantly attacking and even attempting to kill motherfuckers on Namek because they were trying to kill his friends, and he fought Vegeta in the Saiyan arc without a thought for his own safety. The second Cell threatened the Dragon Team, Gohan should have been all over him.
Tell him to stop being a pussy. Remember Bojack?
no fuck that, lets talk about the animal people, did the holocaust happen while we were on namek?
>Was Gohan acting like a pacifist in the Cell Game out of character?
No. Every saga had him that way.
>Was Gohan acting like a pacifist in the Cell Games out of character?
Yes. In the Saiyan and Frieza arcs, Gohan didn’t hesitate to fight those he viewed as evil / threats to his friends and family’s lives. Yet, with Cell, he went full pacifist (pussy), to the point that he didn’t even want to fight the creature that was going to destroy the entire solar system. The Cell arc really destroyed his character, and he never recovered. You cannot be a pacifist in a shonen manga.
he wasn't just being timid, he was actually scared of cell and not as prone to the childish outbursts he was as a child that made him brave
In reality, Toriyama probably forgot. According to the Kakarot game, the furries came to be as a side-effect from some popular drug. It wore off or was fixed somehow. Apparently that game is supposed to be canon.
Retard.
Vegeta would get mad if he saw Roshi touching Bulma. Goku would not get mad if he saw Roshi touching ChiChi.
Chi-Chi is a repulsive, haggard gook that’s flat as a board. Why should Goku care?
You haven’t read the series.
Gohan was never afraid or unwilling to fight those that were threatening the safety of his loved ones or innocents. You’re coping.
I think a lot of the confusion stems from the anime, which added a ton of filler showing Chichi forcing Gohan to study when he'd rather play around. This gave the impression to fans that Chichi is boxing Gohan in to be the kind of man she wants, so when Toriyama wrote that Gohan actually likes studying and not fighting there was a backlash.
Thanks for confirming it. Vs Nappa is all I need to reply with.
>Yes. In the Saiyan and Frieza arcs, Gohan didn’t hesitate to fight those he viewed as evil / threats to his friends and family’s lives. Yet, with Cell, he went full pacifist (pussy),
There's nothing different between all these arcs you listed. In the Saiyan and Freeza arcs Gohan is terrified out of his mind but he fights anyway because he knows he has to. In the Cell arc Gohan is terrified but fights anyway because he has to. It's literally the same fucking thing. All that changed is 16 telling Gohan to let go of his inhibitions.
>Remember Bojack?
Wasn't that the horse from Horsin' around?
Gohan didn't actually hate fighting, he was just afraid of his own potential and what he might do if he stopped holding back and embraced his Saiyan heritage. Every time Gohan commits to training, he quickly overtakes everyone else, and becomes a cocky fighting junkie bastard.
However, the fact that no one can really pose a challenge to him leads to Gohan neglecting his training and becoming a 'pussy'. He doesn't have the motivation to train, because he subconsciously knows that if he did train, he'd just wipe the floor with anyone and everything in no time.
Literally too much of a chad to care about being a chad.
>Every saga had him that way.
Point out where he was a pacifist in the Saiyan and Namek arcs.
>he was just afraid of his own potential and what he might do if he stopped holding back and embraced his Saiyan heritage.
And this is this what exactly what happened. After he went ss2, Gohan toyed with Cell for his amusement just to make him suffer like he did to his dad and friends.
>In the Saiyan and Freeza arcs Gohan is terrified out of his mind but he fights anyway because he knows he has to.
Being frightened to attack at some point does not equal being a pacifist and he quickly got over that.
In the Cell Games on the other hand? He suddenly stops, says he doesn't like fighting like his dad and then says the fight is pointless. He NEVER did anything like that prior.
>SHIThan
I'm out.
>Gohan doesn't like fighting
Literally the first encounter he had on Namek was him killing a man by knocking him out and sending him into water where he'd drown.
