The supporting cast have always been very simple characters that were never intended to have complex narratives centered around them. It's why I'm really excited to see where things go now in this post-confession period, since we are almost guaranteed to not have any of the side-couple detour bullshit that almost every other series is falling into right now.
And I would not be surprised at all if 774 goes ahead with that fox girl story next. A lot of the action shots in the past few chapters show that he's definitely been experimenting with some ideas.

Well, let's be honest here Senpai and Naga aren't terribly complex either. They have the barest minimum additional characterization over the other characters to sustain their fairly basic romance story.
