5 Centimeters per Second

Just watched it for the first time and... I have no words. This is the most heartfelt and also the most heartbreaking story about love I have ever experienced. It has such a heavy and depressive atmosphere but it's also extremely delicate at the same time. A masterpiece.

I've watched so many anime films by now but none ever touched my soul like this did.

I just had sex for the first time and... I have no words. It was the most depressing and mundane activity I have ever experienced. Yes, she was tight and warm, and I was aroused, but ultimately my hand is a far more satisfying instrument. A disappointment.

I've masturbated in so many various ways and quite frankly I prefer doing it alone.

Congrats on the sex.

I liked this and Hoshi no Koe way better than Shinkai's cinema movies. Especially Weathering was generic trash imo.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

>letting parents job change seperate you from your loved one
>doesnt trek 60km both way from an island every day
>doesnt even make any attempt to live independently
>living by their parents whim
they deserved it

Family is a lot more powerful than romantic love.

family does not stay with you until you die, family does not offer you intimate comfort in hard times, family cannot raise children and grow old with you.
family is important and all but sometimes a man gotta do what a man gotta do, even if it means potentially pissing them off, if you're content with following and mooching off family you might as well become a neet.

Comradeship is better than both. I never felt anything watching Clannad but seeing male characters losing friends in war or making grave mistakes they can't undo makes me tear up.

>family does not stay with you until you die,
Same could be said about your romantic love. Separation, divorce, taking your children, etc.
>family does not offer you intimate comfort in hard times
Same could be said about your romantic love. Not in the mood, denying sex to the man, etc.
>family cannot raise children and grow old with you
I guess you mean making babies. Not entirely true if you read or watched Oreimo. And family can definitely help raising children a lot. My parents and grandmother are the ones who help me raise my daughter.

>Hoshi no Koe
King.

>People who highly value family and have everyone living close together and take care of each other like in the blue zones end up living the longest
Really gets the noggin' joggin'
Of course that isn't realistic nowadays but it is a big factor for a healthy life, along with purpose, work, diet and community among other things

DESU, it's less about the distance and more about the way human relations change in time.
People who you are very close to might become just acquaintances in the future. The story's morale is not to stay fixated on the past and move on. MC would've probably been happier had he dated second Genki girl.

it SUCKS DICK

>MC would've probably been happier had he dated second Genki girl.
Doesn't the manga end with them reuniting?

5cm/s sucks. Even Shinkai took the truelovepill with Kimi no Na wa and Tenki no Ko.

What was the nickname we used to have for this shit? 5 wallpapers per second? something like that, those were the days

>I have no words.
Watch Garden of Words next then

Kimi no Na wa and Tenki no Ko are explicitly fantastical with spiritual themes underlying the idealized love, not supposed to be realistic. The garbage in your picrel is just terrible, unrealistic writing for the sake of it.

Irrelevant. The fantastical elements were there to push the characters towards the inevitable conclusion that they love each other, and only each other, now and forever.
Turns out people prefer this kind of story over the usual degenerate schlock that reminds them of real life.
