I really want to know what that "phone book script" was, because apparently Ryukishi still left plenty of room to be surprised himself.
Maybe if he had more involvement than a loose plotline Gou/Sotsu wouldn't have been such a shitshow.

he obviously wasn't involved all the time but saying it's not his work is retarded, he also hadn't seen the gutting scene until it aired. The studio obviously had a lot of freedom but I have no idea how many awful things are their fault and how many are caused by the script being idiotic. The manga cuts a lot of the crap content but the general idea remains the same so far.

gousotsu could only have met people's expectations if it was a VN made directly by him. Even if he had had full control of the anime Ryukishi isn't capable of writing in a 24 minute format.

I don't think he's very involved with the manga, but it's probably following some sort of outline too, since it has to follow Gou's manga which was much closer to the anime.
Apparently it's going to get a new arc as the conclusion, can't be hard to beat Kagurashi.
I just hope it doesn't completely fuck up the Sonozaki twins next arc like the anime did.
