Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song

I just finished watching this anime in the span of two days and even though I'm super late to the party I have to say, what an enjoyable anime this was. It's been a while since I've been so immersed with a show. The animation is excellent, the music is wonderful, I loved the set pieces and scenarios that occurred and the characters that came and often returned along the 100-year journey to save the future. Sure some of the 3D stuff stuck out like a sore thumb and at times even looked a bit silly and pacing wasn't always the best, but in general the whole anime was refreshing and incredibly well put together. It's not a never-before seen story as its premise is pretty much the exact same as the one in Terminator but it is well presented and executed. The way AIs and the different societal dilemmas that arise from their involvement in human society are depicted is a bit shallow too, but I didn't mind this as the story rather focuses on Vivy's character and her own questions about what it means to have a heart, and avoiding a bloody future.

Sadly the story kind of ended abruptly and the OVA offered nothing to sate my thirst for some better closure, so I feel a little bit blue balled now. Like come on at least let me see how a normal day goes on in Vivy and Matsumoto's lives after all the fighting is done, why waste an OVA for some retarded summary? I suppose being left wanting for more is what I would feel anyways but still. A better ending would have made me happier. But in general I absolutely loved this anime.

What did you think about her anime Any Forumsnons?

It was pretty refreshing return to a fully fledged dramatic sci-fi in years, I was looking forward to it since the original PVs, although sadly I did wish it focused more on the changing of the world around Vivy rather than just questions about AI.

Really loved how the concept trailers iterated on each arcs' themes through music.

Welcome to the club of gentlemen and intellectuals. Vivy is for the truly enlightened on Any Forums. It was one of the best anime in the last decade.

Great anime with good music and an interesting concept. The ending soured the experience a little but it was a fun ride to watch with Any Forums all the way through. I can't believe it's already been over a year since it ended.

Post sakuga

I also would have liked to see more on how the world changed as the years went by, especially because I ended up really liking the architecture depicted at times. A sprawling, growing island inhabited and run only by an AI; a giant communications tower that keeps rising higher to the sky as the hundred years go by; and even just the future buildings etc. all of that really was only touched upon sadly.

Short hair vivy > long hair vivy

any other greats like Vivy that you would recommend? Vivy gave me similar vibes as Houseki no Kuni and oddly enough, at times, Yoko Taro vibes

Nothing comes to mind immediately but we are getting a Nier Automata anime soon. Maybe that'll scratch the itch depending on how well it's produced.

I dropped this anime, kinda bored me desu

Galactic Wrestler DIVA sure has a fearsome submission hold, imagine if she stuck Matsumoto between her thighs? He'd be done!

haha, yeah that would be pretty bad! Surely nobody would want to see that haha, it's best Matsumoto-san stays away from her tight grip!
god I want to be manhandled by her, it's not fair bros

It was quite enjoyable. Although it doesn't have much to talk about, since it wraps up very completely, which is a bit of a shame for any discussions afterwards.

I wouldn't mind a spinoff about idolshit that takes place after the anime is over if it meant more character and world development. The ending wrapped up the story but it was a pretty unsatisfying ending because we haven't seen what the world looks like while rebuilding and after everything has happened. I want MOAR

Anything newsworthy about the novels?

Most of it was good but it kind of dropped the ball with the ending. One more show cut short of the greatness it could've had by a deus ex machina "bittersweet" ending which is too cowardly to commit one way or the other.

I didn't mind the ending desu. I prefer it if a show is willing to end it where it feels like ending it, instead of going for more.

Ending ruined it.

care to elaborate about this? My main issue was just that it ended too abruptly.
