Urusei Yatsura is that rare series that appeals to both guys (because of based moroboshi and all the 10/10 humans and aliens) and girls (because it has tender emotional drama and was written by a woman)

For kids today its hard to get just how much universal appeal Rumiko Takahashi's work had in the 80s and 90s. If you were into anime, you were reading and watching her stuff.
Its why it was such a big deal for Inuyasha to get sold in the west after UY and Ranma had really failed to get big broadcast deals. They knew they had a big audience of existing fans, and that they'd get a bunch of new ones.

1. Does it feature Shinobu prominently? If yes then it's a great episode. If not then it's trash so skip it and move on to the next episode.
