Why?

Why?

not enough oxygen

Not enough guts

Because Morikawa writes like a Rom-Com where it is all teasing and no payoff.

We have to face it, the guy is gonna die before ending his damn story.

Your childhood friend will finish his story on his place.

This whole retirement arc never should have happened. Even if it starts moving at lightning pace and Ippo gets back in the ring next week he's still going to have to have at least 6 fights until before he can fight Ricardo

So Ippo the MC in a boxing manga can't box for 4 years is entering his 30's and still can't get his enormous wang sucked by Kumi or fight Miyata so people on Any Forums can call you retarded because it makes the series more "realistic"

Is this after he came back from retirement?

This is why I respect Keisuke Itagaki more than Morikawa. At least Itagaki respects his fans enough by giving us Baki vs Yujiro. Morikawa could not even give us Ippo vs Miyata rematch and that was established almost 30 years ago. Like how long does he want us to wait?

oh sweet summer child...

oxygenbros...

I mean Morikawa is trying to adapt his experiences as a second into the manga, like in a form of art and i can respect that, however, erasing the most important aspect of your main character for 4 years as today is, as we can all agree, very stupid.

i dread to think of all of the poor people morikawa trained considering the shit he writes in Ippo. he's literally kamogawa irl

True. But he is using Ippo as a self insert instead of naturally progressing his character. When that monkey boxer first appeared 18 years ago that was the time I dropped the manga. Back then I just can't believe Morikawa keeps delaying Miyata fight or Ricardo fight or Kumi's relationship. And now that monkey boxer is back again in the spotlight. Sometimes I just don't understand how Japs write their stories. It feels like when they "perfected" a writing pattern they'll just do it over and over again until everyone gets tired of the manga. Even Rocky Balbao had more sensible stories than Ippo like becoming nouveau riche and then losing his money in Rocky 5.

…people still read this?

yeah idk why anyone would keep going
worse than one piece

>One Piece, One Piece I have to bring up One Piece!
Dude just fuck off

Putting aside the slow pace and the type of writting that only teases you the Manga have, it also have very good fights and moments that make you stay at the edge of your seat, the anime and Manga motivates me to get somewhat fit, everything was great until this very moment when Morikawa decides to shit all over what he created because he have a master plan or something.

Imagine reading Dragonball and there's 4 years where Goku doesn't fight or train and you just see him working on his farm. Occasionally you look in at chucklefucks like Tien and watch their pointless fights but that's about it. That's what this manga is now
