It's one of the biggest plot holes in the story. If they cared about Oden so much and his family. Whitebeard or Shanks should have gone to help over the 20 years Wano was enslaved by Kaidou, but they didn't do it because of story convenience. Luffy/Joyboy had to be the destined one to save Wano but it made no sense in the context of how all these people loved Oden. The in story explanation that they just didn't know Wano in bad shape is such a poor one.

It is almost like if the reason why everyone shit on one piece world despite being very detailed and original is the fact that everything is so fucking centered around luffy and his crew. And without their adventures any helpless animal would die , any powerless woman would be raped and any tyrant would rule forever. And the status quo would stay the same eternally (Blackbeard is the one real exception)
