If using guns would give him an advantage and he knew enough about them to trace one, I don't see why he wouldn't.

Why wouldn't he? Just because he's usually a sword autist and his cheat skill lets him make unlimited swords for practically nothing, it doesn't mean couldn't or wouldn't use a firearm when it was appropriate.

Theres a whole alter Emiya Shirou that only uses guns that fires bullets(swords)
