1.0 - Operation Yashima felt a lot bigger and more impressive.
2.0 - Asuka is in it.
Q - Kaworu and Shinjis’ bromance is way more believable.
3.0 + 1.0 - Misatos’ final charge was flying Baka bomb levels of badass.

Sure they didn’t even put him in the last movie but he’ll, that kid from Game of thrones was written out of an entire season and they made him king.
My complete lack of character, relatability or meaningful arc, combined with the fact that we demonstrated no significant romantic chemistry in this entire series completely compliments his central and overarching narrative as the protagonist.
Mari ending up with Shinji bothers me 50 times more than Asuka ending up with Kensuke and I”m an Asukafag!
Never once in the entire series did Anno even bother to make me care or desire the two of them getting together.
Well, it’s Anno. Every time he makes Eva he has to disturb his audience on some level. If this trolling was intentional then Rebuilds are significantly more meta than people realize.
