I liked the ones from dr slump, crazy to think toriyama sent his drafts on a plane
I love the SBS sections in One Piece tankobons, where Oda just answers various questions and shitposts from readers. Wish more artists did something like that.
SBS is definitely one of the things that made binging one piece for the first time more manageable. I always had that short break to laugh at Oda's shitposting between the actual story so I didnt burn out.
Random shitposts, talking about their lives, or character bios and their rough drafts make you feel more connected with the material and the author themselves
we all like Author note but what about TL note?
>there's an 16 years old assasin in Tezuka era asking question to hif favorite managaka
That period must be fucking wild.
I think its just a joke mail. If not then something Tezuka made up just for the response.
Ah, TL notes.
>1. He's gonna get murdered.
>2. YURIIIIII!!!
>2.1 editor: I do love yuri.
>3. See en.wikipedia.org
>4. That girl is bigger than me.
>4.1 editor: You are a small man.
>4.2 TL: You shut your whore mouth.
>5. I've noticed that I haven't been making very many TL notes recently. I'll try to fix that.
I mean, in theory there is a point to TL notes. But when this is what you get, I would rather never see another one ever again.
TL notes are only good when they are teaching something.
TL notes are only good if they are telling me something I don't know or that gets lost in translation like a pun, what a character's name means, or what pronoun they use
Golden Kamui's translator notes were great. Taught me a ton about the Japanese-Russo War.
I can imagine Akira Satou sending this letter
I love them, especially in h-manga. It is always a shame when they are left untranslated. The insight they give to the story and the mangaka are precious.
>pochi puts a note in English at the end of her H-doujinshi advertising her vtubing channel and asking people send her money there if they are reading the doujinshi in a pirated manner
Smart move really.
