Irumi's entire plan was to to protect Vueko, and punish the parasites living off herself until Faputa was able to take the revenge she was born for. It was a very good plan for someone with a child's intelligence. She just failed to share the plan with Vueko, and didn't realize that humans are fucking stupid, and will forget about very important shit like The Curse if they spend a century or more just comfortably chilling

The journey into the Abyss is a crucible which burns away innocence and irrelevancy and reveals a person's true nature and potential. This theme is reflected in many places - whether it's hopeful, like the layers of Prushka's Life Reverberating Stone being chipped away to reveal the White Whistle's full power, or horrific, like Bondrewd cutting away extraneous parts of children to unlock their potential as curse-absorbing-cartridges, and of course in Bondrewd's own loss of humanity and sanity and truly becoming a monster.
Riko, of course, doesn't undergo any significant change in the story because she's pure-hearted and wears her true self on her sleeve.

No, that's not the interpretation I have at all. Iru never held any ill will to those in her. That was Vueko. She projected her anger and negativity into faputa. This was what I believed for a long time and was all but confirmed when we learned juriomoh origin.
