But that's up in the air as we say Tails can be Gohan and thus the strongest motherfucker in the universe but he still doesn't do jackshit cause he's a NEEEERDDDD. Furthermore we know If Sonic is inspired from Goku which is inspired from Sun Wukong then ... Shadow is literally Sonic's Shadow/Macaque, a parrot. So why did Eggman put animals in the robots? simple kidnapping/transporation? or something more fucked up like The Matrix where the robot is using the living being as a battery/CPU or both? how much more energy would bigger animals like Sonic, Tails, Amy provide compared to chaos and wisps?

I think they did this in the comics, but I'm not sure. He does start kidnapping bigger animals in advance 2 and you save them zone by zone which I found interesting. Still, Chaos Emeralds still provide so much more energy that, and flickies are so much more defenseless that big animals are the least efficient ones to use, would be my headcannon.
