Big Mom still has ties with Fishman Island and Elbaf, there's still some things left unexplained when it comes to Kaido's race, the Numbers and Yamato. There's also their history with the Rocks pirates. Resolving an arc like this, ending their story just because they got knocked into a volcano is just piss poor writing
