Steins;Gate

I've seen the anime and I think it was good, Is there any point into getting into the other spinoffs which happen in the same world?
Or do I just read the VN, heard it was a 100 hour game though.

Do not watch the anime of the other series, they are very poorly adapted, also, they are not spin-offs because they are canon within the Science adventure universe. If you're going to get into the other series you better play the visual novels.
Although it is your decision if you want to play the visual novel of steins gate, I tell you that it has more content than the anime

thanks for clearing things up Okabe. Okay I'll give the VN a shot.
>I tell you that it has more content than the anime
Without spoiling if you can, were the cut content major?

Ok.

I wouldn't say that the cut content is a lot, but a considerable amount (in the visual novels there are 6 endings, but they are all canon in their own way, you know, timelines), plus the visual novel gives a lot of scientific explanations and it makes more sense than the anime (remember the scene of okabe touching kurisu because he thought she was dead? well, in the VN, at least for me, they don't make you want to die of embarrassment like in the anime)

Whoever told you the VN is 100 hours long is a fucking idiot. It's like 30-35.

I would recommend playing the VNs instead of watching the anime, especially if you're going to go through steins;gate 0, which has a much worse adaptation than the first VN. The anime adaptation for the first VN is good, but misses good content.

The anime of Steins;Gate 0 is not even an adaptation, it is a complement to the visual novel, the 0kabe of the anime is the okabe that appears in milky way crossing in the true ending of the visual novel, in the VN he appears for very little time.

Thanks Okabe.
I just read some people saying it took them 100 hours for all the routes...
I already watched the anime, and I liked it as I said.

lol. not him but they're shitting you. the only thing that could "pad" the reading hours is not knowing the sequences of cellphone minigame to unlock the true ending.

It's only going to take 100 hours if you don't know what a save is and you have to completely restart the VN for every ending.
They're not long endings, they're more like early jump-off points so it can technically claim to have harem options. A single true ending run will give you the entire experience of the VN.

they unironically browse /sci/ in this anime if i can remember

I have 141 hours after reading through it 3 separate times getting every route and going out of my way to earn every achievement on Steam. One read through of all routes is 30-40 hours depending on if you play it on auto mode or not.

I read the VN in roughly 30 hours cause I didn't take fucking forever on a powerpoint presentation

Watch the anime then play the original VN (not Elite) then maybe watch the anime again to make your opinion about the quality of the adaptation. After that play the dating spin-off or something if you want. Steins;Gate 0 fucking sucks whether it's the anime or the VN you're just better off watching Digi's series on it or something. Coming from someone who wasted their time with both.

OH, and there's a Steins;Gate stage-play which is fucking fantastic if you're invested in the characters and their silly shenanigans. It adapts several routes, some of which are already up and translated on YouTube. That should be enough Steins;Gate for you. Don't play any of the other Science Adventure VNs. They're terrible. Have fun.

there's a lot of drama CDs and they're all really fun

The VN is only 100 hours if you never use the skip option, which any normal and sane human being should. After that the time reduces to 50-60 hours. Me not waiting for some of the voice lines during my first run led me to finish at 43:45 hours.

Second that. A lot of them are up on YouTube, translated by dedicated fans.

The Steins;Gate movie, though unnecessary, is really cute.
