I started a re-read of the manga a couple of weeks ago (colored edition.) I've only made it to the end of Fish-Man Island so far. And that's the first arc that's felt like a chore to read. I'm curious how the other New World arcs hold up. This will be my first time reading Dressrosa onwards in a few sittings, as opposed to weekly. Anybody else done this yet? Were they better?

Reminder the Clima Tact makes no sense at all. To my understanding it absorbs moisture from the air then uses something to compress it into condensed clouds which are contained inside a bubble. The bubbles in their earliest variations contained either hot air or cold air so mixing them up causes well miniature weather systems. What is not explained is how the fuck Nami controls the movement of the bubbles the instant they exit the Clima Tact. How does she control the vector the Bubbles will move in, how does she know how the air currents will cycle to create a miniature cell?
Btw if you want extreme weather just add alot of heat into the air the most powerful storm systems like hurricance and tornadoes fucking love hot ass air.

How does Nami direct the path of the lightning from her tempos? Lightning is literally a flow of electrons moving from a negatively charged area to a positively charged region this is literally the lightning bolt itself its just an ion channel that looks cool to stupid monkeys like humans. In order to control the path Nami would need some way to ionize the air in a specific path before she uses the lightning otherwise the lightning will most likely not even leave her Clima Tact as the air is not ionized around her so the ion channel will stay put until the air gets ionized. The air in thunderstorms is already ionized btw thats why there is fucking lightning everywhere.

I don't know what I would rate it. I need to let it settle first. It did have some absolute kino, like the Roger flashback. What lowers it in my eyes is the lack of payoff to its set ups. Oda left us hanging on numerous plot points, and then rushed at the end. Orochi's comeuppance was truly half-assed. He should have died at the hands of one of the Kozuki siblings. Ashura and Izo dying was super anti-climatic. The samurai had so many death flags, but the constant fake-outs lessened any impact there. I don't really care about the fights, but the monster trio all had some cool moments.
I'd be fine with Nika but there's too many questions about why the WG didn't make it a top priority to murder Luffy after Marineford if his fruit was such a threat.

The next wtf is the scale of the weather he clima tact produces, for one thing the only way I can understand the mass in the object existing is that the staff somehow absorbs moisture in the air constantly. Even with all of that moisture you dont have nearly to create a rainstorm or even a tornado you need shitloads of water vapor to do something like that, which Oda doesnt understand at all. Lets assume I boiled an entire lake then had the Clima Tact absord the moisture and somehow store all of that gaseous mass somewhere. Well the rain is limited by how much matter is kept in the staff so thats not even water to create a large thunderstorm but a small one. See the thing I wouldnt have to think of this crap if she just had the power to control weather but because the hack decided to introduce le science weather staff Im here debunking it as its more nonsensical than those plant rounds Usopp uses.

All Nami does is use her lightning tempos shes a one trick pony and boring to watch fight because Oda has no clue how much electricity will fuck up someone who can still stand up after being zapped by it. Electricity basically vibrates your organs meaning it cooks you alive with enough voltage it can fucking disintegrate you too. At the very least people should be numb for a couple minutes after being hit by Namis lightning even if they can tank it.
