It seems Gash returned because he put his soul into the two children and then went into the ancient mummy. I don't think the others did the same but they'll prob return one way or another

Even if they die there's a way for them to come back via just like Gash. He set up a revival system.

My guess is that this first arc will be about the gradual return of each one of the main cast.
I wonder who is gonna be next though.
Also, if Zach returned because of a piece of paper of his own book, I do wonder how are they gonna bring the others back if they don't seem to have a piece of paper too.

I think blank book pages will be a plot device.

Remember that demon book pages even though they have letters aren't actually "filled out" until the lines change color. The page Zatch gave could've just been any random blank page that he "wrote" on to unlock Zakeru.

So theoretically Zatch could rip out unwritten pages from his new book to give to other partners to revive more demons.

The book users could see the letters, they just couldn't read it until they changed color.
I don't think they can just grab any piece of paper and turn it into a book page by just believing it enough.

IIRC When they had a fight with Dr. Riddles Kiyomaro understood that the spells or words written in the book didn't actually exist until the child underwent personal growth and unlocked new powers within them which were then transcribed onto the book via the characters glowing. The symbols on the book aren't actually real until they glow.

Oh and in some cases even though the characters glow the spell remains unreadable to the partner because of some shit like trauma or other emotions clouding the child's mind. Tio unlocked 2 spells thanks to that panty flipping monkey rabbit but Megumi could only read one (the offensive spell) for almost an arc because Tio was that fucking mad.

I think that gash cafe made it pretty obvious that the books are special, and aren't something easy to replace.
Also, if any paper could work to bring zatch back, he wouldn't need the paper that they specifically brought back from the demon world.
Either way, Zatch did some kind of "decree" to Zelie so that she can bring back the spell books. And Kiyomaro even calls the spell books the "fragments of life".
My bet is that Zelie is the key to turn normal paper into special spell book paper.

That's something funny you brought up. In the original series the book symbols were visible to anyone that read it but in the sequel only Kiyomaro was able to see the characters printed on the page with his drawing. I wonder why it was different.

Yeah, I just hope all demons can come back.
