Playing through Sophie 2 now and fucking hell did they improve massively over the years. Not sure what they got done in Ryza and Lulua but going from Lydie and Suelle to Sophie 2 is like jumping an entire generation ahead. If they manage to finally fully get rid of the motion jank I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to put out a show using the game engine.

They didn't retcon them. They added romantic dialogue options in Escha & Logy's rerelease that can lead to them becoming a couple but they're still canonically just friends even in Shallie's rerelease.

Sophie herself is a lot more charming in her sequel and the rest of the cast feel like proper individuals and not just sketch characters. It's honestly shocking to see them to take such a slow burn approach this time around.

Il-chan-shishou was already thinking of doing lewd things to Firis as a teen. Even the twins could tell how thirsty their teacher was once they got to see how she acted around Firis.
