It fucking is. You delusional if you dont think the anime didnt peak from the early 70's to the late 90's. Sure there is good stuff now but older stuff had more soul. It is true and you know it.
I have watched over 700 anime. Can I say older anime is better now?
It's not.
keep coping.
yea most modern anime is soulless
outside of cunny what is better or on par?
Dear anonymouse,
I love old anime, but what does soul mean?
>what does soul mean
look at the eyes of the character you just posted
now compare it to the eyes of a modern anime character
That's a lot, after 300 you're a vet for me.
you know it when you see it
I've seen over 1,700 anime and disagree completely. I think it peaked in the late 70s and early 00s.
ok early 2000's were also great but the switch to digital and the recession in 08 killed it
80s and 90s were the worst decades by far, agree with the 70s though.
No. Switching to digital actually improved it substantially.
Is that not just a stylistic choice? A wide range of eyes were found in every decade.
A lot of gems in 80s and 90s.
A lot more gems in the 00s and 10s.
Well no of anime/per decade increased by a lot. But most of things released every season is unwatchable.
yes, until 2010+
which is why they are soulless
Not really.
>Patlabor (TV, not the awful movies)
>Ghibli
That's literally it. That's all the good anime in a 20-year period.
Older stuff has >50 episodes and is mostly episodic SoL/action. It's so different from nowadays anime that it's not even reasonable to compare. Speaking for entertainment only, I think older anime generally did it better, but the best stuff post-EVA is a lot better than the best stuff pre-EVA.
I think anime changed the moment mangakas realised they don't need good writing to make a character attractive. As long as it has tits, abs and a certain amount of drip anything goes
Here are some popular 2010+ anime with visually distinct eyes.
I don't like the art of either, but they're definitely different.
No. That's when everyone started shoehorning ugly CG into everything.
I think that was true back then too, but the lower list of anime combined with the fact at a lot of them only had very limited airings means most of the shit ones are either lost media or don't even have subs.
>anime changed
>when mangaka did something
Maybe anime should get its own identity.
Translation: I'm nostalgic for the retro anime aesthetic so I just call everything new soulless.
Very silly user, you forgot a lot of good anime.
If you want reccs, I'll be happy to provide them.
I feel like that shit if anything was worse back then since you could get away with uncensored tits and the like back then. Junk Boy was a pretty good example of how things weren't exactly not sexualized back in the day.
There would likely be a whole lot more CG if not for the switch to digital.
UY is zoomers first pre 90’s anime. If you want me take this post seriously post a show you have watched yourself
Anything like you’re under arrest or eatman
