Seasons 1-3 were great but Season 4 is fucking retarded and boring as shit.
every fight is dragged because of flashback spam and that Gentle dude and his stupid overdramatic girl couldn't be cringier

Season 1-3 weren't great. S1 was fine, S2 was good, S3 had the most iconic moment of the series, but afterwards drags with a really terrible arc and it only gets worse and worse afterwards.

it neededs filler arcs, ironically. each arc changes the status quo but it has no weight if you don't see it linger and "exist" at all. following the villain academia arc by the war is the most extreme "tell don't show" moment I have ever seen in a manga.

This sounds like something that would happen with any long-running serialized story.
No matter how long you can keep it going, one day it will get boring. Eventually fans will start complaining that the story is getting boring. Then the serial ends with a bad ending.

Eh MHA peaked with the Sports Festival, the Stain arc and everything after just felt like a drag.

what drag? the story doesn't drag for anything, that's the problem. you have one chapter telling you deku is becoming too dark and they solve it literally 1 chapter after. Eri rescue starts like 3 chapter after she shows up. the liberation army appear to immediately lose, and once the villain "win" their following, they get attacked by the heroes with just a few text ellipses pretending that it was a big deal between the two event. nagant and dark deku felt like a 3 episode filler since it concludes itself with no real followup in like.. 5 chapters? and from this we are jumping to the final war without really any warning, with more disposable filler characters like Stars&Stripes that disapear so fast, it's impossible to care about the heroes caring about her. Hori counts way too much on his audience knowing the tropes of the game to develop them himself, it's practically us that are writting the story now, he just send the themes.
